He's the guitarist and founding member of “Twisted Sister,” the band that rocked the airwaves with this ‘80s anthem. Over the years, the meaning of this song has evolved for him. Today, he fights for something that’s affected his life and family—prostate cancer. Learn more about Jay Jay William King, Founding Member William King is a founding member of the soul/funk band, The Commodores. In 2012, at his annual checkup, his PSA level was elevated. At the time, his doctor told him they would keep an eye on it. When he got his PSA checked again in 2014, his levels were extremely high. And the doctor had bad news—he needed to undergo surgery for treatment. King now spends his time on both music and advocating for prostate cancer awareness—especially for Black men, who have a higher rate of diagnoses than White men. Learn more about William More for you
